Today, we are pleased to present our pending review of the highly anticipated Founders edition of the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti, equipped with 8 GB of memory. Despite the delay in providing a sample for the review, we wanted to further explore this product that has received its fair share of criticism.

Memory improvement for GeForce RTX 4060 Ti (larger L2 Cache) - According to NVIDIA
The Ada memory system is a huge improvement over older systems because it features a large 32MB cache. This makes gaming at 1080p better because less information has to go through system memory. Ada memory system is very good because it runs fast and also consumes little power.
The GPU and memory systems together make games run very smoothly. They use L1 and L2 data caches. The L1 cache is very fast because it is close to the processing parts. But it's small, so if the data isn't there, the GPU gets it from the L2 cache. This is on the same chip and is connected to the rest of the GPU.
If the data is not in the L2 cache, then the GPU has to get it from VRAM. This is not so good because it consumes more power and is slower.
The Ada GPU has an improved memory system with a larger L2 cache. This cache is 16 times larger than that of a 128-bit Ampere GPU. Data can be transferred quickly between cores and L2 cache due to increased bandwidth. Larger L2 cache leads to more L2 cache hits and reduces memory bus traffic.

The AI model was trained to predict a 16K ultra-high-resolution reference image, improving through neural network training using the difference between the predicted and reference image.
After repeating this process numerous times, the network can produce high-quality images. DLSS 3 ushers in a new era where artificial intelligence creates entirely new frames instead of pixels, using four components: an optical flow accelerator, game engine motion vectors, a convolutional autoencoder AI frame generator y a high speed super low latency pipeline reflex.
DLSS 3 is a technology that uses the power of the Optical Flow Accelerator to provide the neural network with the direction and speed of the pixels from one frame to the next. This enables the generation of completely new frames without conventional graphics processing, resulting in up to a 4x performance boost in GPU-limited cases (according to NVIDIA) without sacrificing quality.
Additionally, DLSS 3 can benefit both GPU and CPU constrained games, including games with large worlds and physics-based gameplay. By allowing Ada GPUs to render at a much higher frame rate, DLSS 3 provides significant improvements in game performance.

To ensure that our equipment is running at optimal levels, we are launching a new phase of renovation. As part of this process, we are pleased to announce the implementation of a new method for measure GPU consumption.
We will use the performance evaluation tool Furmark, which is capable of reaching a resolution of 3840x2160p, and we'll put it to the test for a period of 15 minutes (or 30 minutes for those using a liquid cooling solution).
In this way, we can effectively determine the maximum temperatures of the video card and establish the level of noise generated under these specific conditions. When playing, it is important to note that consumption can increase from 100 to 120 watts, therefore a complete systematic measurement is strongly recommended.
As a quick tip, those looking for help choosing a suitable minimum power supply for their model can add 100 watts to the recommended voltage or use the manufacturer's guidelines as a helpful reference.
Consumption – Quite low
Regarding power consumption, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti Founders Edition is a fairly efficient GPU, with barely 252 watts required for the entire system using Furmark. However, it is important to note that these values were determined by testing with minimal stress on the processor.
Therefore, they should only be used as a reference and taken with caution.
Overall, NVIDIA has achieved clear improvements in power consumption, thanks to advances in TSMC's 4nm manufacturing process.
Maximum temperature – Furmark – RTX 4060 Ti Founders Edition – Low temperatures
After rigorous testing, we have collected data on the thermal performance of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti Founders Edition. We have calculated the ambient temperature delta to be a remarkable 42,6 degrees Celsius, proving that this GPU is capable of exceptional thermal performance.
It's worth noting that NVIDIA's reference design performed well in this test. We will now delve into the topic of noise generated by these GPUs and explore its implications in more detail.
Noise – Furmark –RTX 4060 Ti Founders Edition – Super quiet

According to measurements, the card produced a noise level of 40.5 decibels. It is important to mention that the average ambient noise level is around 37 decibels with no devices in operation.

Over the years, NVIDIA representatives have given us suggestions during our conference talks. One of the most significant is the importance of comparing a new product to its predecessor with the same name hierarchy. This allows for accurate and comprehensive analysis of improved performance. After extensive testing, we have found that the improvement in rasterization for the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti compared to its predecessor it is only of the 9,05% a 1080p, a number that varies depending on the game being played. In some cases, it is greater, while in others it may be less. However, it is important to note that this improvement decreases significantly when the resolution is increased. Final opinion – The black sheep of the GeForce RTX 40 series so far
The opinion we have about the new video card of NVIDIA, the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti, shouldn't be surprising after today's results. In simple terms, the video card NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti maintains the price of its predecessor despite the global increase, but sacrifices several things, such as a shortened PCI Express lineup, a lower configuration of CUDA cores, and a significantly smaller memory bus..
Although the improvements of Ada Lovelace are real (GeForceRTX 4080 y 4090), the sacrifices made in the design of this video card are evident. The GeForce RTX 4060 Ti offers 10% more performance than its predecessor at 1080p (in some cases similar) and a modest 5% more at 1440p. As a bonus, it includes NVIDIA's new frame generation technology, DLSS 3 y AV1 encoding. These last two technologies may not weigh heavily on most gamers.
Unfortunately for NVIDIA, adoption is small (based on post-launch news) and the incentive to switch from a GeForce RTX 4060 Ti to currently owning a GeForce RTX 3060 Ti is minimal (or none). However, the story changes for users using certain GeForce RTX 20-series video cards.
At launch, the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti serves to enhance the perception of graphics cards like the GeForce RTX 4070 or liquidate remaining stock of GeForce RTX 3060 or 3060 Ti graphics cards (with their respective price discounts).

Money shouldn't be an issue for NVIDIA after its recent rise in valuation thanks to its foray and investment in the AI business, but like any good investor, it's never good to put all your eggs in one basket. Abandoning your gaming segment would be a bad idea (unless you're only making a loss), and a diversified portfolio is always a good thing for any company.
As a reviewer, the generation gap has been simply the smallest I can remember in recent years and it leaves a bad impression. We expect the GeForce RTX 4060 to be a better launch for the benefit of the end consumer.
