Bugs replicated with new NVIDIA drivers – RTX 30 and 40 series affected

It's been a few months since several users - especially those who had not had any problems with their cards GeForce RTX 30 and 40— began reporting strange problems with their systems. What's changed? Everything points to one cause: the introduction of the drivers 572.XX, which have brought more headaches than expected.

Not only have they been reported black screens constants with the RTX 50 series, but the 572.XX family of drivers has been plagued with bugs since its release.

Gamers Nexus investigates the reports

Investigating driver errors is not easy. It requires time, resources, and testing across multiple configurations. Despite this, the team Gamers nexus managed to reproduce several of the bugs described by the community in different games and scenarios.

These are some of the situations where problems were successfully replicated:

  • star wars outlaws: Resuming the game from a suspended state may result in a crash righ now.

  • Marvel Rivals: Activate frame generation on certain systems it causes crashes.

  • Cyberpunk 2077: The game may crash when loading a save.

  • Shadow of the Tomb Raider: The title throws an error DXGI and closes on startup.

  • Users with multiple monitors have reported stability and image problems.

  • Changing DisplayPort cables hot has caused visual errors or crashes.

  • Systems going out of mode suspension/rest face black screens or unexpected restarts.

The curious thing: all these problems disappear when using older versions of the driver, such as the branch 566.XXIn GN tests, the driver 566.45 (hotfix) resolved most of the errors listed in cards RTX 20, 30 and 40.

Limitations for users with RTX 50

Unfortunately, those who own a GeForce RTX 50 They cannot revert to previous drivers, as the 566 series does not include support for this generation. This leaves users of newer cards no choice but to wait for an official fix or a more stable version of line 572.

Recommendations

For those with RTX 40 cards and older, the following is recommended:

  1. Use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to completely remove the current driver.

  2. Install the driver 566.45 (hotfix) which was the last one before the release of the RTX 50.

  3. Prevent installation of the new NVIDIA App for now, especially if it's not necessary for your workflow or game.

What's going on with NVIDIA?

For years, the stability of its drivers has been one of NVIDIA's strong points when compared to its competitors. Today, that reputation is being questioned, not only due to technical errors, but also due to the perception that recent releases are not being sufficiently validated before reaching the end user.

We'll be on the lookout for future updates or fixes from NVIDIA.
