NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 could drop in price: $547 via discount

Igorslab has been discussing the price of the GeForce RTX 4070 with several of the partner companies de NVIDIA and the launch of the GeForce RTX 4070 has been much worse than expected. According to the reviews portal, this situation has caused partners and NVIDIA to come up with a possible short-term solution; a discount of US$ 50 (American dollars).

At the moment this discount is a rumor, but what is not a rumor is the lower than expected sales of the GeForce RTX 4070. Even in the United States, models with a higher MSRP price ($ 599) have dropped 10- $20 at some electronic retailers.

Based on Tom's Hardware analysis, this possible discount of US$ 50 it would not necessarily reach the end user immediately; but the AIBs (ASUS, GIGABYTE, MSI, etc.) could gradually lower prices to leverage costs. There are also concerns that this discounted price could affect sales of the next card to be released (supposedly in May), the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti.

According to rumors, the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti would have a TGP of 160W and this would encourage partners to use lower power coolers to save cost/maximize profit. Meanwhile, AMD Radeon cards using RDNA3 are expected to be released post-Computex (June).

Sales of the GeForce RTX 4070 have started off pretty slow anyway, but this discount doesn't mean they will necessarily apply to all regions of the world as well. It remains to be seen.
