New Windows 11 cumulative patch breaks SAFE MODE (KB5012643)
sIn tests of a PC (Core i9-12900K with memories DDR5 y GeForce RTX 3080) I find with the surprise that, when trying to enter safe mode, using DDU and reinstall updated drivers, Windows 11 safe mode becomes “not safe nor friendly” for the end user.
It took two hours to rule out the new patch, which Microsoft says is cumulative and fixes a Windows 11 issue that causes the operating system to take up to 40 hours to boot.
Initially I thought my bad luck was an isolated case, but on the Microsoft forums, users have reported the same problem with this patch.
Windows 11 KB5012643 (April). I'd avoid it for now. Entering W11 Safe mode made me enter a non-stop loop of blinking help window, rendering W11 safe mode UNSAFE. Uninstalling it fixed it.

FYI: Recent Windows 11 Update KB5012643 appears to have broken Safe Mode causing the screen to flicker and the desktop to be unresponsive. https://t.co/C05US2b6Wc https://t.co/MKahb1bRhr

A volunteer forum moderator confirms this behavior.
Our opinion is, Microsoft Windows 11, since its inception, has been a headache and we do not find much value added to the new Microsoft operating system. I hope that the company will polish and push real reasons for gamers to migrate to their new operating system, such as the official introduction of Microsoft DirectStorage API and games to start using this new technology.
Would it also be too much to ask for a Windows 11 lite (“gamer edition”) with fewer services and unnecessary things that the enthusiastic gamer does not require? I'm pretty sure they could market this and sell to OEMs with an added price.
The other alternative is to use unofficial builds from the company that are ultra light and therefore not supported by the company itself.
For now, we recommend staying away from the cumulative patch KB5012643 and if they do use it, according to Microsoft's volunteer moderator, ensure that the SAFE MODE WITH NETWORKING option does not have this behavior.
