Intel would launch a new driver that would improve the performance of its graphics cards
According to the German portal PC Games Hardware, Intel would soon be launching a new graphics driver that would improve performance. The biggest problem with the launch of the new Intel Arc graphics cards, was the software (drivers) that have various problems with games. Intel was transparent about this, but that also made it a good recommendation for many end users.
The driver history for Intel Arc has been a checkered one. While we haven't had any taste of the new graphics cards, one of their pain points has been games using DirectX 9. A couple of weeks ago, Intel updated their drivers to improve bugs, as well as performance on these titles.
According to what the German portal reports, Intel has identified the bottleneck in various titles and knows how to identify them:
“As we've heard in informed circles, Intel is currently preparing a major driver update that is intended to increase performance across the board; it appears that one of the undoubtedly existing brakes has been identified and removed.”
If Intel manages to have stable drivers, it could start to make a change in the video card market, especially in the most competitive section of the market, against AMD and NVIDIA.
