Intel i226-V 2.5GbE has disconnection issues on Z790 boards
The controller Intel i226-v 2.5 GbE made its debut with motherboards Z790 and several models use it, but apparently it has a design flaw. This bug causes the internet to disconnect for a few seconds randomly and there is no solution so far. This isn't the first time Intel has run into problems with network drivers. For example, the Intel i225-v suffered problems and the solution was that instead of working at 2.5 Gbps, through firmware/driver, it worked only 1 Gbps to avoid disconnection problems.
According to what the portal reports techpowerup, Installing the latest firmware, drivers and BIOS for certain top-of-the-line Z790 motherboards have had disconnection issues, which is especially noticeable when gaming.
So far there is no solution to the problem, not even lowering the speed of the Intel i226-v control to 1 Gbps. Competitors like Realtek and Marvell are likely to take this opportunity to sell their high-end NIC as a replacement for various manufacturers.
