Elgato and OBS streamline creators' workflows

The collaboration promises to make streaming and video production easier for everyone.

MILPITAS, CA, February 25, 2025 - Elgato, a CORSAIR brand, today announced its sponsorship of the OBS Project, the team behind Open Broadcaster Software (OBS). Through this partnership, Elgato will help fund further innovations in the free, open-source platform designed for streamers and video creators. Additionally, Elgato has introduced a new plugin that makes it easier for users to add and share settings in OBS Studio.

“This partnership builds on a long history of collaboration,” said Taylor Ward, Director of Ecosystem at Elgato. “Elgato and OBS Studio tools have always been closely linked, and now we’re taking that connection to the next level. Together, we’re excited to offer creators new ways to improve and streamline their workflows.”

The OBS Project is largely community-driven and relies on sponsors for the resources needed to maintain and improve its software. With its Diamond level sponsorshipElgato provides immediate funding to support key areas such as the development of new features, including an expanded plugin infrastructure, and helps cover operational costs from bug fixing to hiring developers.

Elgato reaffirms its commitment to keeping OBS free and accessible to everyone, joining industry leaders like NVIDIA, AMD and YouTube in continuing to support the project’s success.

The plugin

Fortunately, streamers don't have to wait: new tools are already available. The plugin Marketplace Connect for OBS Studio from Elgato unites both ecosystems for the first time, offering faster and more efficient workflows than ever before.

Users visiting Elgato’s Marketplace digital storefront will find a new section dedicated to OBS. Here, creators can explore complete broadcast setups, called “scene collections,” and install them directly into OBS Studio. A process that previously required hours of manual configuration and troubleshooting is now done in just a few clicks.

Additionally, creators can now easily share their own OBS setups as well. The export tool automatically collects files and settings, bundling scenes in just a few steps, ready to share with other creators on the Marketplace.

But Elgato isn't stopping there: future updates will add widget support, Stream Deck integration, and many more advanced features.

The legacy

For over a decade, Elgato and OBS have led the way in content creation, developing intuitive and complementary tools.

Elgato capture cards were among the first to offer native support for OBS Studio, allowing gamers to share content more seamlessly. When Stream Deck debuted in 2017, it featured native OBS integration, making it easier for streamers to manage scenes and sources with the push of a button. Wave Link subsequently revolutionized audio for creators, providing professional control and a more streamlined interface in OBS Studio.

Today, millions of creators use OBS Studio alongside Elgato tools to improve the quality of their productions. It’s a collaboration that has made streaming more accessible than ever before. And with today’s announcement, it’s clear that the best is yet to come.
