ASUS announces AMD Radeon™ RX 9070 and 9070 XT graphics cards

The new generation RDNA4 of Radeon cards from TUF Gaming and Prime Incorporates 16GB of VRAM, technology HYPR-RX and a way of Super resolution based on machine learning for optimized performance.

KEY POINTS:

  • TUF Gaming Radeon™ RX 9070 and 9070 XT graphics cards They feature three 11-blade Axial-tech fans, 0dB fan technology and ample vents on an aluminum backplate.
  • Prime Radeon™ RX 9070 and 9070 XT graphics cards They incorporate a more compact fan shaft to allow for longer blades, as well as a barrier ring that increases air pressure.
  • All the models include a phase change thermal pad on the GPU, which improves heat conduction, optimizes thermal dissipation and ensures superior performance.

ASUS today introduced the AMD Radeon™ RX 9070 and 9070 XT graphics cards for the TUF Gaming and Prime lineups, featuring the new RDNA 4 architecture, 16GB of VRAM, HYPR-RX™ technology, and a machine learning-based Super Resolution Mode. These models are designed to deliver a high-level gaming experience for years to come.

Next-generation HYPR-RX technology enables ultra-fast performance, while AMD’s latest AI features take immersion to the next level, including an enhanced ray tracing experience.

Additionally, the new machine learning-based Super Resolution mode is supported in select games using FidelityFX™ Super Resolution 3.1, achieving an impressive balance between visual quality and frame rate smoothness.

If that wasn't enough, DisplayPort™ 2.1 outputs offer massive bandwidth, allowing you to play at ultra-high resolutions with top-tier refresh rates.

TUF Gaming at the forefront of the battle

ASUS has proven experience in taming GPU temperatures while maintaining low noise levels, and has put that experience to work for the TUF Gaming Radeon™ RX 9070 XT OC Edition y TUF Gaming Radeon™ RX 9070 OC Edition

It starts with a trio of eleven-blade Axial-tech fans that maintain a constant flow of high-pressure cooling air through a massive airflow-optimized blade array. 0 dB technology allows these fans to come to a complete stop for silent operation during light workloads. Plus, wide vents on the aluminum backplate facilitate heat expulsion into the main chassis airflow.

Some gamers prefer to tune their graphics cards for maximum performance, while others insist on silent operation. A physical Dual BIOS switch allows users to choose between performance and silent modes without installing additional software. For more performance tuning options, easy hardware monitoring, and detailed control of fan behavior, users can download the free software ASUS GPU Tweak III.

In this generation of graphics cards, ASUS is replacing the thermal paste traditionally used to transfer heat from the GPU to the cooling solution. Instead, the TUF Gaming Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 feature a phase-change thermal pad. This electrically non-conductive pad is solid at room temperature, but becomes malleable when heated. In doing so, it fills the microscopic gaps between the GPU and the thermal module, providing superior thermal conductivity and improved heat dissipation, ensuring optimal performance, even for sustained, heavy GPU workloads.

Phase-change thermal pads, on the other hand, offer exceptional longevity. They last much longer than traditional pastes, even for video cards that regularly endure heavy workloads.

The Phase-Change GPU Thermal Pad is just one of many elements of the TUF Gaming Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 designed to provide users with long-term, reliable performance. ASUS encases these cards in a metal exoskeleton for structural rigidity – a little extra support with a GPU bracket will virtually eliminate the risk of video card buckling. Plus, dual-ball bearings keep the fans spinning for up to twice as long as conventional designs. Additionally, ASUS selected military-grade components to deliver rock-solid power and long lifespan, as well as a PCB coating to protect against short circuits caused by moisture, dust or dirt. Plus, ASUS’ Auto-Extreme manufacturing process delivers robust longevity that lives up to the TUF name, so users can rest assured their card will be powering games for years to come.

Many PC builders love that TUF Gaming graphics cards come in an understated style that easily matches almost any component on the market. In the case of the TUF Gaming Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070, ASUS has retained the series' classic rugged aesthetic. An illuminated TUF Gaming logo on the corner of the card adds a touch of personalization, and it's compatible with Aura sync so that users can coordinate their lighting with the rest of their compatible equipment.

ASUS Prime graphics cards stay cool with their compact 2.5-slot design

For those looking for solid PC performance without breaking the bank, ASUS Prime components are a standout choice. This applies to Prime graphics cards, motherboards, cases, power supplies and all-in-one (AIO) liquid coolers.

The Prime Radeon RX 9070 XT OC Edition y Prime Radeon RX 9070 OC Edition ASUS Axial-tech fans feature a triple-fan cooling system in a 2.5-slot design. If you’re looking for exceptional gaming performance in a space-constrained case, these graphics cards could be the ideal solution. To ensure excellent heat dissipation and compatibility with a wide variety of compact cases, ASUS has optimized the Axial-tech fans with a smaller motor that allows for longer blades, surrounded by a barrier ring that increases downward air pressure.

ASUS RX 9070 XT PRIME

The Prime versions of these graphics cards share many features with the TUF models. For example, they feature phase-change thermal pads on the GPU for optimal heat transfer and long-term durability. Additionally, fans with dual-ball bearings ensure longer airflow compared to conventional designs, while the ASUS Auto-Extreme manufacturing process offers proven precision and consistency.
Users will also enjoy 0dB technology, a dual BIOS switch, and the structural strength of a protective aluminum backplate.

Reliable and safe power supply options

Pairing a new graphics card with an unreliable power supply is a recipe for disaster. If a user's PSU is already several years old, a next-gen upgrade can provide added peace of mind.
To ensure users can choose a power supply with the features, wattage and style they need, ASUS offers a wide variety of options across the ROG, TUF Gaming and Prime lines. Click here to learn more about how to compare different power supplies and find the ideal model for each configuration.
